A Little About Us
The Plano Aquaducks is a recreational youth swim team for the Plano Parks and Recreation Department. We were founded in the summer of 2000 and have grown from 35 to over 200 swimmers. The Aquaducks are affiliated with the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF).
Aquaducks strives to provide a fun and family-like atmosphere as we introduce kids from ages 7 to 18 to the great sport of competitive swimming. We provide an opportunity for kids to swim throughout the year in a non-threatening, recreational environment where kids can build character, foster exemplary sportsmanship, make new friends, experience teamwork, and improve their swimming skills. Our coaching philosophy focuses on making sure the kids have a great experience while also working on a good balance of stroke work and conditioning.
The essential elements of character-building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles:
- Trustworthiness
- Respect
- Responsibility
- Fairness
- Caring
- Good Citizenship
The highest potential of sports is achieved when competition reflects these “six pillars of character.”
